Observation Method
Organizations and institutions sometimes determine what people think of their services by interviewing their clients or visitors and asking questions about their experiences using them. Interviews can produce misleading results, however, because people may not feel comfortable saying what they really think directly to their interviewers. To avoid this problem, organizations and institutions sometimes use an approach called the observation method to collect information. Using the observation method allows them to observe and gather information on how people interact with their services while not making it obvious to people that they are being observed. In this way, it is possible to obtain more accurate information about people’s opinions.
