Beginning of Semester Snack Break at Student Center
Next week, a snack break will be held on Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the Student Center. Various local restaurants will provide free food samples to those who attend, which should be an opportunity for students-especially first-year students-to become familiar with the food of area restaurants. More importantly, the event will provide an opportunity for all students to meet and socialize, and get to know each other at the start of the new semester.
The woman expresses her opinion about the plan described in the article. Briefly summarize the plan. Then state her opinion about the plan and explain the reasons she gives for holding that opinion.
Task3
Reading:
Irreversible Thinking
Children develop thinking and reasoning skills gradually over time, so young children may not yet possess the same logical thinking abilities that adults have. They may not understand that after an object or situation has changed in some way, that change may be reversed, or changed back to the way it previously was. This tendency to believe all changes are permanent is known as irreversible thinking. Irreversible thinking can lead to frustration if children are unhappy with changes that have occurred. Even if the object or situation has returned to its previous state, children may be unable to understand that, and they may therefore remain unhappy and frustrated.
Explain how the example from the lecture illustrates the concept of irreversible thinking.
Task4
Summarize the lecture about kleptoparasites. Be sure to include the examples of seagulls and redstarts in your summary.
