Students pursuing a literature degree are required to complete a course called Contemporary Literature, which covers a selection of notable books written in recent decades.I think that this course should not be a requirement. Most of the books that students read on their own in their free time fall into this category, so they are already becoming familiar with more recent books on their own. Also, literature majors have more degree requirements than students in most other majors, and some students have had to stay an extra semester to complete everything. Having one less course requirement would help students finish their degrees on time.

Cultural Preadaptation

Throughout history, groups of people have moved, or migrated, to other locations for various reasons, often trying to carry their way of life to their new setting. The groups that are most successful in doing so typically exhibit cultural preadaptation. Groups that demonstrate cultural preadaptation had previously adapted well to the environment of their homeland and developed skills that would help them in their new environment. Cultural preadaptation is oftenseen when people migrate to a new area that is environmentally similar in some ways to their original homeland. As a result, they are able to thrive in the new area.
