Campus Sculpture
A graduate of the university recently gave the university a large sum of money to be used to beautify the campus grounds. Administrators are considering using the money to purchase a sculpture by a well-known artist for the main lawn. I enthusiastically support the idea. I think installing a major sculpture would be the best way to make our campus look more attractive, since it would add a nice focal point to catch people’s attention. Also, the center of the campus lawn is a perfect location: it’s spacious, open, and currently not used.

Flipped Classroom
With traditional teaching methods, teachers use class time to lecture and introduce new information to students. Students then perform the challenging task of applying the new information by completing assignments outside of class without assistance from the teacher. Research has shown, however, that students may learn better when traditional methods are reversed and teachers instead use the flipped classroom method. Using this method, teachers often record lectures for students to listen to on their own outside of class. This makes class time available for students to complete the more challenging task of applying the new information from the lecture by working on assignments in class with guidance from the teacher.
Explain how the example from the lecture illustrates the flipped classroom method.
